Message from the Chapter

First of all, we wish all of you a happy and prosperous new year in 2024! We hope that your holiday season was filled with joy and some much needed relaxation time.

Looking back on 2023 in preparation for the new year, we have much to celebrate as a chapter. Our membership has tripled over the past year as a result of the amazing speakers in our virtual meetings and our gracious hosts for our in person events. They are all consummate professionals and leaders in their fields who truly believe in the betterment of the community and cyber resilience at large. In addition, we have made many connections with other groups in the cybersecurity community both locally and regionally and have had the opportunity to partner with them for events as well….and we graciously thank them for their support. Not only has our membership grown, but out social media presence has expanded by almost double from where we started in 2022, so keep spreading the word that we are here!

As a recap of our events this year, we really stepped up our game from 2022 by having 7 virtual events covering various topics across the cybersecurity domains and even some topics on social engineering and navigating the cybersecurity job market as well. We also held 5 in person events where we looked at capabilities of cyber ranges, discussed cyber law, and got an introduction to cyber requirements for working with the Department of Defense (DoD). These events really helped to foster new connections and provided opportunities to partner with other groups to further our goals of educating the local/regional community.

As we look to 2024, the momentum will continue starting in January (see events below), so we hope you are enjoying the content we are presenting, and we will continue to find creative ways to keep everyone in our chapter engaged. Looking forward to a great year, and thank you for your support!
