Message from the Chapter President
November is a time for giving thanks. First, we’d like to thank our members and supporters. The ISC2 Central Gulf Coast Chapter is growing quickly and we appreciate the enthusiasm. As promised, we are coordinating more in-person events. This month, we are going to the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City and will be honored to have Jason Ingalls and Brandi Pickett hosting a discussion on Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and the future for DoD Contractors (registration links below).
We give a huge thanks to TEKsystems and the NOLAsec group for hosting our October event. Sarah Anderson, owner and founder of legallycyber.com, was an outstanding speaker! We received a lot of positive feedback from her presentation. We highly recommend following her on LinkedIn and connecting with her regarding cybersecurity laws concerning your organization.
We thank our Chapter volunteers and volunteer leaders. The Chapter is doing well because of your efforts. Upcoming events look exciting! December will be the visit to Stevenson Technologies Corporation cyber range in Baton Rouge. Early next year we will have an opportunity to meet virtually with May Brooks-Kempler who is currently serving on the ISC2 Chapters Advisory Committee and recently elected to the ISC2 Board of Directors. We will also begin planning our Annual Membership Meeting early next year. We have several initiatives that we’d like to support so If you are interested in becoming a Chapter leader or volunteer then please let us know.
We would also like to thank Veterans for their service. Finally, we give thanks to our family and friends as we come together for the holiday season.

Volunteer

Call for Volunteers
ISC2’s Center for Cyber Safety and Education sponsors the Safe and Secure Online program as part of the organization’s Reach and Inspire effort to spread cyber awareness and techniques to at risk audiences. Volunteers sign up to present a 45-60 minute presentation on to local high-risk groups (school children, parents, senior citizens, etc.). The first two presentations earn the speaker 10 CPEs each.
