Message from the Chapter President

Things are heating up! As we move into the Summer, the Chapter is gaining momentum and exciting connections are happening. Several new members have come into the chapter with new ideas and surplus energy. Whether your corner of cybersecurity is looking for obscure errors in 10,000 lines of code, reading the latest government framework or speaking to assembled masses, there is an area of the Chapter for you. Send us your ideas and let us know what you would like to see.
In June, we are excited to host Jennifer McBride to talk about everyone’s favorite topic- Artificial Intelligence. As you well know, AI is changing everything, and Jennifer will take us through the impacts on governance and risk management. Can the robots do our work while we hang out in the hammock? Jennifer will let us know. In July, the 24th Annual Digital Forensics Research Conference is being held in Baton Rouge in cooperation with Louisiana State University. ISC2 Members get 10% off registration. Register by June 14th . Thanks for all you do.

DFRWS - Digital Forensics Research Conference

DFRWS is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to bringing together everyone with a legitimate interest in digital forensics to address the emerging challenges of our field. DFRWS organizes digital forensic conferences, challenges, and international collaboration to help drive the direction of research and development.

DFRWS conferences provide a friendly atmosphere to share research papers, practitioner presentations, and works in progress. Every gathering includes technical workshops, demos, panels, and other “breakout sessions” covering various issues related to digital forensics.

Ultimately, it is the goal of DFRWS to cultivate transdisciplinary coproduction of knowledge that stimulates healthy growth in this rapidly evolving field. It is notable that many novel developments in the field have their roots in works and breakout sessions at DFRWS conferences. As such, DFRWS conferences are not only a snapshot of the state of the research in the field, but are also a useful pointer towards the future.
